Camano Island is just shy of 40 sq mi, 15.6 mi long and .75-6.6mi wide.
While the two state parks, Camano Island State Park and Cama Beach State park are popular places to visit, there are many breathtaking beaches, forests, lakes and trails to explore!
Things To Do On Camano Island
The Cascade Mountain Range, Puget Sound’s Port Susan Bay, Mount Baker and Stanwood, WA are viewed from the East coast with pastel sunrises in the morning and rose-colored tinted scenery at dusk. Puget Sound’s Saratoga Passage, Whidbey Island and Olympic Mountain Range are visible from the West coast with brilliant sunsets at sundown. Being such a small island, driving from the East side of the island to the West side only takes up to 10 minutes.
Extremely talented local artist, Jason Dorsey, painted the below map (my favorite map of Camano) illustrating our beautiful Island and highlighting all beaches locals and residents adore. In 2016, Jason published a wonderful book called The Beaches of Camano Island offering rich history of each beach along with paintings capturing the essence of the individual beaches. Interesting fact, he actually walked the entire Island and knows our shores intimately!
While most of these beaches are private, scroll down to for public beaches anyone can visit. Note: Discovery passes are required for State Parks.
